Overview

Join us for this engaging introductory course where you will gain a solid foundation in Adobe Photoshop. Designed to provide a basic understanding of the software, this course covers some of the fundamental but incredible capabilities and functionality of this ever-expanding powerhouse of image creation and manipulation.

From setting up and understanding your workspace and tools, to working with layers, masks, typography, creating composite artwork by combining images, editing photography, using new AI features to generate engaging content, and exporting for ever-growing world of digital and print.

Through hands-on exercises, and step by step instruction and practice, you’ll create sophisticated digital imagery, equipping you with skills to expand your creative potential.

Whatever your industry or job role, if you need to create professional level digital imagery, this course will empower you to unleash your creativity and confidently navigate the world of Adobe Photoshop. 

The skills taught are transferable and can be applied across a multitude of outcomes.

No prior knowledge or experience of Photoshop is required. You will be guided through each stage to understand the basics. However, you should have some basic Mac or PC skills. 

This course is specifically designed for anyone who requires some foundational skills in creating captivating and visually appealing content, regardless of your industry or job role. If your job involves the creation of well designed, advertising, marketing, or promotional material in print or digital, or you simply want to create and manipulate artwork or photography to achieve impact – this is for you. Whether you are new to Adobe Photoshop or have some prior experience, this course is suitable for beginners who want to start their journey in mastering the industry-standard software for image creation and manipulation. 

Whether your goal is to create clickable social content, digital art, enhance existing imagery, create multi-layered imagery, or edit imagery for stand out print promotion, this course will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to excel in digital image content creation. Rich Jackson

Rich is currently a Graphic Design Lecturer for our HND Art & Design and BA (Hons) Visual Communications (Top-up) courses.  

Rich graduated from Loughborough College of Art and Design in 1996 and has since worked in advertising and brand communication agencies for many clients, from blue chips to start-ups. With over 25 years of experience, 15 of which in agency and over 10 years as a freelancer, he offers real industry insight and a wealth of knowledge to students across branding, packaging, advertising, print and digital communications. 

Rich currently splits his time between sharing his knowledge and experience with graphic design students while actively working with clients across London and the UK.
