Corona Virus Advice and Guidance
We’re doing all we can to keep you safe, up-to-date and informed.
Our COVID-19 page is updated regularly, but please check the Government and NHS websites and download the NHS COVID-19 App for the most up to date information as the situation is changing rapidly.
All staff and students are required to wear masks in shared/ common areas in the HE areas. This includes DGC staff & students entering or passing through.
Staff are not required to wear masks while delivering lessons however, students will. In situations where they are in close proximity to students, then staff will be required to wear masks.
The Head of Centre will be acting as the lead for all Covid enquiries and actions.
All staff and students must contact firstname.lastname@example.org when ill; self-isolating; displaying symptoms, or have general enquiries. This will be monitored throughout the day by the Head of Centre and key staff.
We enter Autumn Term at a point where people have many different viewpoints, concerns and expectations about how we respond to Covid-19. Here at DGHE, we are a respectful community and everyone needs to do their bit to keep everyone safe, especially those most vulnerable. As part of our community, we ask that you:
- Get tested regularly
Test yourself twice per week, three days apart.
- Where and how can I get a rapid lateral flow COVID-19 test?
Staff and students who are not displaying symptoms of COVID-19 can order rapid lateral flow testing kits from the NHS website.
Anyone with coronavirus symptoms should request a PCR test for yourself or a member of your household from the UK government Covid-19 website or by calling 119. A test should be booked as soon as symptoms begin.
- Wear a face covering
Unless exempt, we will require that you wear face coverings in teaching sessions, to protect yourselves and others, as well as in busy indoor spaces and while moving around the building. Keep an eye out for signage about when and where we recommend wearing them.
- Get vaccinated
Vaccination is by far the most important step you can take to protect yourselves and others, and help DGHE maintain its full programme of in-person activities. So we strongly encourage you to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible.
There are lots of people here to help and support you in whatever way you need, wherever you currently are. Should you need to self-isolate, let us know via email@example.com.
During your time at DGHE, we provide free access to the Togetherall website and the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust platform. These are online wellbeing community services, and you can also call on your College and our Advice and Wellbeing Service (AWS). We can support you whether you’re on or off-campus, but above all, it’s important to remember that you’re never alone.

I very much hope you enjoy the start of term and all there is to follow.
Best wishes from myself and everyone at DGHE!
