Pre-sessional English Course
DGHE Pre-sessional English Course is designed to improve your academic English in readiness for your studies. It is intended for students who are planning to study for an HND or degree at DGHE but do not meet the English language requirement of their conditional offer.
Taking a Pre-Sessional English course will not only help you improve your language skills, but it will also help you with your studies and research, and give you more confidence as you prepare to start your course.

How to apply
You do not need to apply directly for the Pre-sessional English Programme. When you apply to study at DGHE, we will automatically assess your eligibility for the programme if you do not meet the English language requirements for your chosen course.

Technical Requirements
Please note the following technical requirements for the online Pre-sessional course:
- access to a laptop or desktop computer with an internet connection. Mobile devices are not appropriate;
- a headset/headphones or speakers and a microphone;
- a webcam;
- Zoom installed;
- a good internet connection. As with all online platforms, the higher the bandwidth of your internet connection, the smoother your experience of our platforms will be.
Attendance
To get the most out of the Pre-sessional course you should contribute to every session. Attendance is monitored each week and if it falls below acceptable levels then you may be withdrawn from your course.
Course assessment
At the end of the course, you will be required to pass an online assessment under exam conditions in order to progress to your chosen programme. Upon successful completion of the course, you can progress directly to your chosen course at DGHE (provided you have met the course requirements).
