Congratulations to DGHE Class of 2024

Posted on 07/11/24

Together at this year’s Graduation, we celebrated the achievements of our Class of 2024 alongside faculty, friends, and family.

It was an honour to welcome Professor Jackie Labbe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost from the University of Gloucestershire. We were also delighted to hear from several of our bright, dedicated students.

Inspiring Speeches

One of our students, Irene said:

“I want to thank you for providing a place and a programme that allows “mature” students that have put their dreams on hold, to be able to dream again, to leave their comfort zone and dare to take in new challenges, and during a few hours a week, they are just students with a whole future ahead.”

In another speech, our Head of Centre, Paul Talan said:

“DGHE has been proud to support you along the way with flexible schedules, financial assistance, career guidance, and well-being services. But the truth is, all the support in the world could only get you so far. Your success today is due to your own perseverance, your discipline, and your belief in your ability to make it here… You are the heroes of your own story, and we are privileged to be a part of that story”

Our Founder David Game updated the crowd on various developments across our college Group and he then gave the students the following advice:

“DGHE will continue to evolve, and I hope you’ll keep up that same pace. The world moves quickly. What’s relevant today will likely change tomorrow, and the best thing you can do is stay curious and adaptable. It’s easy to get comfortable, but don’t let comfort be your limit. Challenge yourself. Keep learning—because the world isn’t slowing down, and neither should you. I am always hearing of the amazing achievements by our alumni and I look forward to hearing about you all in the years to come.”

After recognising students across all programmes, the celebration continued with a mixer in the Barbican Conservatory, where graduates, guests, and faculty celebrated together.

Career Support for Alumni

Students who attended were reminded that our Careers Advisor is also available to all our alumni.  Please email Roger at r.martin@dghe.ac.uk to help guide and support graduates to make the best of these qualifications!

Our deepest gratitude goes to everyone who made this event possible – from lecturers to administrative support staff. A special thank you as well to the children in the audience, who all behaved wonderfully! We’re proud of our students and look forward to hearing what they achieve as DGHE Alumni!
